Fireflies caps new free accounts at 3 transcriptions unless Auto-join is on
Free accounts created on or after 1 September 2026 get 3 meeting transcriptions by default. Turning on 'Auto-join calendar meetings' removes the cap, but inviting [email protected] to individual meetings does not. Accounts created before 1 September keep their old limits. AI summaries still draw on AI credits. The pricing page changed from 'Unlimited transcription' (3 Aug 2026 archive) to 'Unlimited transcription*' (3 Sep 2026 archive).
Zoom adds AI Companion to free Basic accounts (3 meetings/month)
With AI Companion 3.0, Zoom Workplace Basic (free) users get AI Companion for up to 3 hosted meetings a month (meeting summaries, note-taking, in-meeting questions) and 20 AI queries. Zoom also announced a $10/month standalone AI Companion add-on.
Granola swaps its 25-meeting free trial for a free Basic plan with limited history
Seen between the 3 Sep and 8 Oct 2025 archives of the pricing page. Before: 'Free trial, 25 free meetings', Individual $18/month. After: 'Basic, $0', AI meeting notes but only 14 days of meeting history, with Business at $14/user/month. The page now just says 'limited meeting history', and Granola's help docs currently put it at 30 days. The date shown is the first archive showing the new plan, not an announcement date.
